Benvenuto! Dear followers, as the spring days are going by we wrote one more interesting and we hope impressive artickle about lovely but not our favorite NEW YORK city.
Late, peaceful and calm evening in Milano. My lithuanian friend Zivile is cooking tagliatelle with pesto sauce and we both drinking white Verdicchio wine”Dry, medium-bodied, crisp white with minerally flavor and a sea-air freshness,, after few minutes of this elegant, classic and Italian dinner I’m getting an email that I have to come in Malpensa airport after 2,5 hour! Because I have a shoot in NY!!!! You can’t even try to imagine my reaction when I had read this.. After that shocking 15 minutes starts the worst… packing, unpacking , prepacking….But after all I’m in Malpensa airport! And after 14 hours of flight,I’m in NY.
Tripping from airport.
Manhattan Skylan.
The skyline of New York is changing with so much building going on, but it’s always inspiring and beautiful. In case, every street and park in Manhattan provides a fantastic photograph. The skyline is unique and gorgeous. What is truly different from any other skyline is that when you’re looking at all these biuldings, bridges or panoramics you almost feel like you are looking at a movie set.
CENTRAL PARK
Extending from 59th to 110th streets between 5th and 8th avenues [Central Park West], Central Park is one of the iconic sights of New York City. While it may appear to be a beautiful natural area, be aware that it is entirely man-made except for the glacier scarred protruding rocks.
BROADWAY
Broadway is famous as the pinnacle of the American theatre industry. This district is known for its abundance of theatres. Many of theatres have been in use for over 50 years! Everyone has to visit NY at least once in a lifetime and when there you have to sample Broadway even if you’re not looking to take in a show. This place has a buzz 24/7
TIME SQUARE
I would really recommend going there at night rather than in the day. Probably looks quite tacky in daylight. Lights, bustle, taxis and people everywhere! The guys trying to sell you the bus tickets and comedy tickets are enerally ok and helpful
Be aware of the people dressed up as Disney type characters, don’t even acknowledge them, as soon as you do they swarm on you and want you to have pics taken with them. They seemed to target couples with kids the most.:))
Police presence is strong so you always feel safe. Many weird characters can be encountered such as the ” naked cowboy”, Spider-Man,iron man etc but this truly adds to the charm of Times Square.
FIFTH AVENUE
Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue are two avenues to see when in NYC. Fifth has one of the best and biggest Apple Stores always worth going in. Department stores, designer stores, and many boutique shops, Tiffany, and whatever you desire.
Think of any world brand you want…Chanel, Dior, Burberry, Hermes, Armani, Versace, Tiffany’s, Cartier…you can find all of this here. Even if you’re not a shopaholic, you should visit it. You don’t need to shop, just walk on it. There’s no way you won’t find anything interesting. The way they are decorated, the windows of the high-end brands are art by themselves. And you don’t always have to buy something. You can always enjoy the window-shopping since most of the stores are extremely expensive.
Greenwich Village
Like a small town within Manhattan, the Village has narrow tree-lined streets and brick townhouses.A great local neighborhood to explore. I often go at night and you’ll be walking down quiet streets by yourself like you are in your hometown with no to little traffic and people around. This place is the complete opposite of Times Square.
SOHO
SOHO is home to some great shopping and food areas. This is where i shop in NYC – not on 5th ave. It has a local atmosphere while still swallowing in stores and shops. The Uniqlo world headquarters are here (a great store btw) and you’ll find lots of local coffee shops and restaurants and local shops besides the big name brand stores.
Dunkin’ Donuts is America’s favorite every day, all-day stop for coffee and baked goods. Dunkin’ Donuts is a market leader in the regular/decaf coffee… Must try! Unfortunately it wasn’t so good as everyone are saying
And for my baby Kamila-Starbucks :))SOOO American ..after Italian espresso it was teribble 😀
THE FLATIRON BUILDING
The Flatiron Building is a famous landmark of New York City. It was completed in 1902 and was one of the first buildings in the world to use a steel skeleton. This Daniel Burnham design got its moniker because, as you might guess, it resembles an iron. This is an unusual type building as opposed to square and multistoreyed NewYork city buildings.
This building is really worth seeing. It is triangular in the front and is broad at the back. The building is very attractive and can be seen from afar.
Many offices and other businesses inside and we could not go and see the inside the building.
Many television channels and tv serials use this building for television commercials and documentaries. Moveis like Godzilla and Spiderman are shot in this building..
ONE WORLD TRADE CENTER
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s One World Trade Center is redefining Lower Manhattan’s New York skyline. Standing at a symbolic 1,776 feet tall, the architectural and engineering marvel is an ever-present symbol of renewal and hope.
FRANK GEHRY’S NYC TOWER
According to its official website, 8 Spruce Street is one of the tallest residential towers in the world. Completed in February 2011,the building was developed by Forest City Ratner, designed by Frank Gehry Architects and WSP Cantor Seinuk Structural Engineers, and constructed by Kreisler Borg Florman. It contains a public elementary school owned by the Department of Education.Above that and grade-level retail, the tower contains only residential rental units (898 in total), a rarity in New York’s Financial District.
THE AMERICAN MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY
The American Museum of Natural History of New York City is one of the largest and most celebrated museums in the world and my favorite. The Museum comprises 25 interconnected buildings that house 46 permanent exhibition halls, research laboratories, and its renowned library. The collections contain over 150 million specimens, of which only a small fraction can be displayed at any given time. The Museum has a scientific staff of more than 200, and sponsors over 100 special field expeditions each year.
NIGHT LIFE.

THE END
After 2/5 weeks of staying and broading my mind in America I understood that i need more classic, cleanier, historical place to live and at any momemt i thought about desserts, coffe or ice-cream I could’t fall into oblivion my lovely and unforgetable Italy…I prefer creamy Tiramisu, cold and fresh gelato but not snikers or fat donuts :)) So as autumn days was going by i booked a flight to my simple pimple Lithuania.
“Autumn is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.”
I hope you all enjoyed my story,I’m truly thanksful for all my friends I met in NY. Jansen,MY Babysavina, Ro Grady,Tim,Julija. Thank you all.
Best whishes, Agota.
